Del total de casos de COVID-19, más de 67 mil se han recuperado

With 570 new cases of COVID-19, Panama reach 93,552 infections

Panama begins the month of September adding 570 new cases of COVID-19, which brings the total number of infections to 93,552 as indicated by the Ministry of Health.

While with 16 new deaths, the number of deaths from this virus in the country is 2,018, which represents a case fatality rate of 2.2%.

In addition, there are a total of 66,974 clinically recovered patients, and 25,560 active cases.

According to the epidemiological report, of the active patients 22,705 are in home isolation (397 confined in hotels), while another 1,458 are hospitalized (1,290 in ward and 168 in intensive care).

According to the age group, patients between the ages of 20 and 59 continue to be the most affected in terms of contagion, however most deaths correspond to those over 60 years of age.

On the other hand, the RT or effective reproduction rate of COVID-19 is 0.96.

The provinces with the highest incidence are Bocas del Toro, Panama, Colón and Veraguas.
