Warning issued for urban flooding due to heavy rains in several provinces

The warning for possible urban floods is directed to sectors of the provinces of Panama, Panama Oeste, Colón, Coclé, Chiriquí and Veraguas.

The National Civil Protection System issued this Sunday a warning of prevention for possible urban floods due to the heavy rains registered due to unstable weather conditions over the national territory.

The warning is directed to the sectors of San Miguelito, Chilibre, Chepo, Chimá and Panama in the city of Panama; San Carlos, Capira, Chorrera and Arraiján, in West Panama; and for the provinces of Colón, Coclé, Chiriquí and Veraguas.

According to the Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa, the Low Pressure Systems, the Intertropical convergence zone with activity from Moderate to Strong, and the axis of Tropical Wave # 5 of the season, are those that are modulating the prevailing conditions.

An increase in cloud cover is expected towards the mountain ranges of the country, presenting downpours with moderate to strong electrical activity isolated over Panama North, Center, East, West and Coclé; the Center and South of Veraguas and Azuero and on Chiriquí; as well as some scattered rains, of less intensity on the South of Darién.
