An interactive forest park opened in La Florecita, Veraguas
This interactive park is located in the community of La Florecita, in Veraguas, and currently has a 24-hectare globe of land with two small lakes.
The first interactive forest park became the Metropolitan Park of Santiago Apóstol, located in Santiago de Veraguas, after the Ministry of the Environment installed plaques with QR codes that will allow visitors to know in a simple and practical way, information on the flora that surrounds them.
With this technology, data such as the common and scientific name of each species, its reproductive and flowering cycle, the height, diameter, habitat and distribution of its leaves will be known through mobile devices.
The data collection work for this environmental education tool was carried out by MiAmbiente staff, while the community participated in the labeling process.
"This technological alternative will increase the number of visitors interested in interacting with nature and at the same time knowing the flora of this park. In addition, it promotes green tourism, one of the objectives of the Ministry of the Environment, explained the regional director of the entity, Julieta. Fernandez.
