Vacutur Panama: anticovid vaccines tourism program begins

With the Vacutur, travelers entering the country will be able to receive the first or second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at no cost.

After reaching 70% of the application of the two doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 to the general population, Panama began the Vacutur program , through which it seeks to attract the arrival of tourists to the country for the application of the vaccine anticovid.

As of this Friday, October 1, 2021, foreigners without immigration procedures who enter Panama through the migration posts established in national ports and airports, and who have at least two confirmed reservation nights at accommodation sites registered with the Authority of Tourism, will be able to receive the first or second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19, at no cost.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) of Panama established that the vaccination points will be located in the commercial centers of the capital city.

In accordance with the requirements established by the Panamanian authorities, the international visitor to receive the COVID-19 vaccine must be at least 18 years old.

Interested travelers should process their request only through participating hotels and travel agencies approved for the Vacutur Panama program of the ATP.

TOURISTS FROM HIGH RISK COUNTRIES

For their part, international visitors from or who have transited through high-risk countries in the last 15 days must comply with a mandatory 3-day quarantine, the cost of which must be fully covered by the visitor.

After the quarantine period, the visitor must take a COVID-19 test that must be negative to be able to leave the quarantine and receive their vaccine; If they test positive, at the end of the 3-day quarantine they must comply with a 14-day quarantine, the cost of which must be fully covered by the visitor.

ECONOMIC REACTIVATION

Vacutur is one of the alternatives that are being promoted to achieve economic reactivation, and begins in parallel with Black Week 2021.

The objective of this initiative is to achieve the reactivation of more than 100,000 jobs in tourist activities and it is estimated that the country's economy will receive an economic injection that exceeds $325 million, with the approximate arrival of about 140 thousand tourists who are expected to visit the country.
