The Ministry of Health (
Minsa) of Panama extended until this Sunday, July 18, the vaccination sweep in the 7-2 circuit, in the province of Los Santos.
This due to the large influx of people in the vaccination centers.
The sweeps are vaccination days that are carried out in a specific place, and this time it is aimed at people 16 years of age and older.
According to data from the
Minsa, until yesterday a total of 11,906 doses of
Pfizer have been applied to those over 16 years of age, including people with disabilities and chronic patients over 12 years of age in this circuit.
To date, more than 1 million 780 thousand doses of anticovid
vaccine have been applied in Panama, of which more than 1.3 million are from the pharmaceutical company
Pfizer and more than 467 thousand from
AstraZeneca. One million more
vaccines are expected to arrive this month to continue immunization.
According to previous statements by the President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo, sweeps will be carried out in different communities as more doses of
vaccines arrive.
