Two foreign cyclists run over on the Coastal Beltway, drunk driver captured after running away
The cyclists, of Uruguayan and Italian nationality, were rescued and transferred to a hospital. The driver was found to be drunk in the test.
On the morning of this Sunday, while sports activities were taking place on the Cinta Costera, the run over of two cyclists was recorded near the Seafood Market.
The National Operations Center registered the accident on its cameras and coordinated with the Municipality of Panama, the Institutional Protection Service (SPI) and the SUME ambulances for the care and transfer of cyclists to medical centers.
It was also known that those run over are Uruguayan and Italian nationals.
In addition, the authorities reported that the driver tried to flee and was captured by units of the National Police and the SPI, in the roundabout of the Seafood Market.
The National Directorate of Traffic Operations (DNOT) applied the breathalyzer test to the driver and he marked 75 mg / dl, (proven drunkenness), so they proceeded according to what is indicated in Executive Decree # 640 of the Traffic Regulations.
