Tropical wave #36 is here: rains and storms forecasted
Etesa issued a surveillance notice for the entire country for possible rainy events and storms that could be occurring.
The Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa announced this Tuesday about the entry into Panama of tropical wave # 36, which could present rains and storms in different parts of the country.
The Etesa report points out that "the weather conditions for today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday) are induced by the passage of tropical wave # 36 and interaction with other atmospheric systems in our region. Periods with rainy events and with storms, of importance in a large part of the national territory, which could generate flooding of rivers and some urban floods."
In addition, accumulated maximum rainfall per day is forecast, probable in low-lying and coastal areas: 15 to 50 mm. o liters of water per square meter and in mountainous and mountain regions with the possibility of higher amounts.
The validity time of the forecast runs from 2:00 am on Tuesday, September 14 to 11:59 pm on September 15.
Among the areas under the surveillance notice are: Bocas Del Toro, Comarca Ngäbe Buglé, Veraguas, Colón, Comarca De Guna Yala, Darién, Comarca Emberá, Panama, Panama Oeste, Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos, Chiriquí, and maritime sectors of the Panamanian Caribbean and Pacific
Citizens are advised to follow the recommendations of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) and other security entities in the country.
