Tourists rescued after flooding of a river in Chiriquí

Rescue personnel from the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) and the NGO SAR Panama (Salvage, Environment and Resilience), managed to rescue two tourists after being trapped in the water due to the flooding of the Macho de Monte River in Bugaba, province of Chiriqui.
Armando Palacios, director of Sinaproc in Chiriquí explained that there were three young people, two of them, Venezuelans who despite the warning not to go to the rivers these days, the two were trapped in the tourist area when the river level began to rise and two of them could not get out.

The mayor of Tierras Altas, Javier Pittí, called on the population to be careful to prevent them from being swept away by water.
