At 7:00 pm on December 24, a new total quarantine began to rule in Panama, to try to control the accelerated increase in covid-19 infections.
The measure will be in force until 5:00 am next Monday, December 28.
This same measure will apply as of December 31 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on January 4, 2021, as established by the Ministry of Health (
Minsa).
In addition to the total quarantine, from this December 23 the sanitary fences and checkpoints in different sectors of the country were activated, and trips by buses to and from the interior of the country were prohibited.
During the curfew and total quarantine, members of the public force may circulate; health and medical personnel, as well as administrative and operational personnel from hospitals, clinics, medical laboratory personnel and veterinary services.
Public servants dedicated to attending the emergency at the national level, cleaning companies, the agricultural industry, the power generation and distribution industry, among others, may also circulate.
These personnel must be duly identified.
