Starting next Tuesday, April 20, people who wish to apply the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine will be able to register through the website https://vacunas.panamasolidario.gob.pa/vacunas_menu/.
This was announced by the Vice Minister of Health of Panama, Ivette Berrío, through her Twitter account.
This Friday, the Ministry of Health reported that Panama received 36,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine through the Covax Mechanism.
During the announcement, the Health authorities highlighted that the AstraZeneca vaccine protects against the new coronavirus, reporting an efficacy of 76% to prevent symptomatic COVID-19, and 85% efficacy in people 65 years of age or older.
The recommendation for the application of this vaccine in the country is that it be used in men older than 30 years, and women older than 50 years.
The Ministry of Health has not yet defined a date for the start of vaccination with the AstraZeneca doses.
