For the month of April, the doses of vaccines that protect against influenza arrive in Panama, the national coordinator of the Expanded Program on Immunization (PAI), Itzel de Hewitt, reported that by 2021 they will begin applying them to pregnant women and minors.
She indicated that the influenza
vaccine is applied with priority to the vulnerable population such as: the elderly, children under 5 years of age, patients with chronic diseases and pregnant women.
In this sense, Hewitt explained that the simultaneous application of
vaccines against influenza and
COVID-19 is not recommended , for which a time interval will be provided in the administration of the dose to patients with chronic diseases and older adults.
