The quarantine and mobility restriction begins in Panama and Panama Oeste

From this Monday the 4th to Thursday the 14th of January, new sanitary measures come into force for the restriction of citizen mobilization in the provinces of Panama and West Panama.
Among the measures published in Executive Decree No. 1686 are: restricting the mobility of people, with the exclusive purpose of stocking up on food, medicine or fuel, except for health reasons, using as a basis for this, gender and number of ID in the case of nationals or passport for foreigners.

Women may circulate on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, while men on Tuesday and Thursday.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) established a curfew for the provinces of Panama and West Panama from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., from this Monday, January 4 to Thursday, January 14, with the exception of the days of total quarantine.

In the case of adults over 60 years of age and people with disabilities, the circulation to make their purchases is established between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm regardless of their identification number and they may be accompanied by their life assistant regardless of their gender.

During the total quarantine period, access to and use of parks, plazas, stadiums, gyms, the Cinta Costera, Calzada de Amador, beaches, rivers and public spas is prohibited.

Also in quarantine, the open and closed social areas, such as gyms and swimming pools of the condominium buildings (PH), neighborhoods, residential areas and hotels may not be used. Neither will meetings or celebrations between people who do not live in a residence be allowed.

The authorities maintain the installation of sanitary fences in the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste. Which will be located at the National Police checkpoint in the district of Chepo and in the El Lago spa in Capira.

For the rest of the national territory, the curfew is maintained from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
