La Unión Europea mantiene a Panamá en su ‘lista negra’ de paraísos fiscales

The European Union keeps Panama on its ‘black list’ of tax havens

The European Union (EU) has decided to keep Panama on the “black” list of tax havens in which Dominica has also entered, although they have removed Barbados.
This is stated in the new update of the list of non-cooperative jurisdictions in tax matters, which is currently made up of twelve territories considered not very transparent: American Samoa, Anguilla, Dominica, Fiji, Guam, Palau, Panama, Samoa, Seychelles, Trinidad and Tobago, American Virgins Islands and Vanuatu.

The changes were approved last week by the Finance Ministers of the Twenty-seven (Ecofin) and have been formally approved this Monday in a parallel meeting with their foreign counterparts.

With this decision, the EU makes it clear that it considers that the isthmus has not yet resolved its deficiencies in the system for exchanging tax information.
