Supreme Court: movement restrictions in place until June 21

The Plenary of the Supreme Court of Justice, in an extraordinary session held this Monday, made the decision to maintain the suspension of the judicial terms until June 21 in the first, second and third judicial circuit, as a result of the rebound in cases from Covid-19.
The measure includes the districts of Panama, San Miguelito, Arraiján, La Chorrera, Chame and San Carlos regions in which the statistics of the Ministry of Health reveal an increase in the numbers of people infected by Covid-19.

Sources of the Judicial Branch reported that the decision was made after the Ministry of Health announced the expansion of restrictions on personal mobility in the provinces of Panama and Panama West.

With this measure, the Health authorities return to the alternate exit model for men and women, and in accordance with their latest ID number.

The Judicial Branch had planned to lift the suspension of the judicial terms on Monday, after carrying out an adaptation work on the premises of the Gil Ponce courthouse to avoid contagion from judicial officials and users of the system.
