The budget presented by the Minsa exceeded 3 billion dollars, while the one recommended by the Assembly is 2.5 million.
This Monday the Ministry of Health (
Minsa ) of Panama presented before the Budget Commission of the National Assembly the budget view for 2022 that reaches $3.9 billion.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), for its part, recommended a budget of 2.5 billion. A difference of 1.4 billion.
In his speech, the head of the Health portfolio, Luis Francisco
Sucre, explained that the budget will be used in "operating expenses, in investments with a view to strengthening health services in the 827 facilities nationwide (boards, hospitals,
Minsa -Capsi, Health Centers, etc.), and also in the human resources necessary for care ".
Sucre asked the deputies and the MEF that the budget be reconsidered, so that "all the health needs that the country is going to have next year can be met."
