Sucre delivers COVID-19 contingency plan to the reopening table
The Minister of Health of Panama, Luis Sucre presented to the commercial reopening table, made up of ministers of State and leaders of the private sector, the contingency plan prepared to face any scenario of the upsurge of covid-19 cases in the country.
The contingency plan is divided into four indicators such as Rt of 1 or less, lethality of less than 3%, availability of beds in the ward of 20% and availability of beds in intensive care of 15%; and it has five stages of alerts.
As every Monday we are meeting, the government and the business sector, as agreed in the meeting where the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo, participated. We are always ready to dialogue and facilitate the exchange of ideas or proposals that contribute to the economic reactivation and, with this objective, we will meet in the next few days, said the Minister of Commerce and Industries, Ramón Martínez.
Martínez announced that the next meeting will follow up on the updated national and provincial reopening plan, which has progressed gradually, allowing the reactivation of more than 7,500 companies and the return of 93,560 workers.
Recently, this table agreed to work on a new methodology for the development of meetings.
