Subcommittee approves a roadmap to move forward with complaints of abuse at Insam
In recent days, sexual abuse and mistreatment were reported against female patients held at the Mental Health Institute of Panama.
The Subcommittee on Women, Children, Youth and the Family of the National Assembly, this afternoon approved a roadmap to move forward with complaints of alleged mistreatment of women at the Mental Health Institute of Panama (Insam).
The subcommittee, chaired by Deputy Emelie García, met this afternoon to agree on the roadmap.
It should be noted that on September 2 this subcommission was created and deputies Emily García, Corina Cano and Edwin Zúñiga were appointed to investigate these complaints.
In the complaints, Insam workers are linked, such as those responsible for mistreatment and sexual abuse against patients.
