The Special Commission for the Evaluation of the State Pact for Justice published the final report with the list of 23 recommended for magistrates of the First Civil and Administrative and Labor Litigation Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ).
The report presented on July 26 to President Laurentino Cortizo, indicates that all applicants meet the eligibility requirements established by the Political Constitution of the Republic of Panama, however "the names that are presented are those who had the greater number of coincidences by the entities.”
"Once the interview and evaluation process concluded, and taking into account the recommendations of the Report of the Commission of the State Pact for Justice of the year 2005, it was agreed that the method for submitting the considerations requested by the Cabinet Council in Article 10 of the Resolution in question, it would be through the sending of a short list, not less than ten (10) nor more than fifteen (15) for each vacancy,” indicates the document.
There were 79 applicants, those interested in occupying the positions of magistrates, principals and alternates, of the Supreme Court of Justice; of which 20 were women and 59 men. There were two declines in the interview phase, leaving a total of 77 people, 18 women and 59 men.
Of that total, 11 were recommended for magistrates of the First Civil Chamber, the following names:

Juan Francisco Castillo Canto, 59 years old.
Roderick Chaverri Vianett, 53 years old.
María Cristina Chen Stanziola, 49 years old.

Hernán Antonio De León Batista, 49 years old.
Giovani Aurelio Fletcher Hern, 52 years old.
Carlos Isidoro Pizarro Hill, 48 years old.
Ana Zita Rowe López, 53 years old.
Otilda Vergara Cano de Valderrama, 67 years old.
For the Third Chamber of Administrative and Labor Litigation, the 12 recommended are:
