El aviso de prevención es emitido desde este jueves 15 hasta el jueves 22 de octubre

Sinaproc issues high tide warning in the Pacific until October 22

The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a warning of prevention, surveillance and monitoring, due to high tides in the Panamanian Pacific.
The entity details that the high tides will be recorded from 2:03 am on Thursday, October 15, until 7:41 am on Thursday, October 22.

It indicates that the tides are expected to be reaching heights of approximately 18.7 feet (5.7 meters), and if the tides coincide with the heavy rains, river levels could increase, causing flooding.

Faced with these conditions, the National Emergency Operations Center (COE) indicates the prevention measures that must be taken into account by the population:

- Avoid carrying out activities on the Pacific coast.
- Artisanal fishermen must use navigation equipment and personal flotation devices (life jackets).
- Keep an eye on children, grandparents and people with disabilities, who are on the shore of the beaches.

Sinaproc makes a call to remain calm in case of floods and call the following emergency lines: 9-1-1, * 335, and 520-4429.
