Sinaproc issues a warning for rain surveillance until July 5
Sinaproc reported that the passage of tropical wave # 12 and the course of Hurricane Elsa through the Antilles will increase rain events.
The National Civil Protection System ( Sinaproc ) issued a surveillance notice until next Monday, July 5, due to the passage of tropical wave # 12 and other atmospheric events.
Sinaproc explained that the passage of this tropical wave and the course of Hurricane Elsa through the Antilles will increase the rainy events.
According to the Directorate of Hydrometeorology of Etesa, maximum accumulated rainfall per day is expected in low-lying and coastal areas from 15 to 50 millimeters or liters of water per m2 and higher amounts in the mountains of the country.
The Sinaproc warned that although these rains are typical of the season, there will be moments that will be with strong intensity in various sectors of the country.
The entity recommended following the following rain prevention measures: stay calm, stay away from trees and power lines, secure roofs and windows, do not cross rivers or streams, and avoid traveling through flood-prone areas.
