Online purchases are only between 5% and 10%, and are not a workable solution to sustain the business, said Nadkyi Duque of the Association of Shopping Center Owners.
The announcement comes after the Ministry of Health (
Minsa) of Panama, authorized the opening of retail sale from next August 17, and for which, shopping centers must control the entry of customers for the withdrawal of purchases.
We expected a declaration of a total opening, just as people can go to a supermarket to buy groceries, they could in a similar manner also enter the stores and make their purchases, we have all the biosecurity measures, said Luque.
Luque indicated that it is already unsustainable to continue with closed businesses, and asked the authorities to be part of the reopening process.
Retail sales will be reactivated through online sales, and stores will be able to deliver goods at the doors of their premises and in parking lots only to those customers who place their orders online, complying with biosecurity protocols.
