Sectors of Panama Oeste will be without water on Monday due to maintenance work
As reported by the Idaan, the work at the La Chorrera water treatment plant will take place from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Several sectors of the district of La Chorrera , in the province of Panama Oeste, will remain without the supply of drinking water this Monday, September 13 due to preventive maintenance work that will be carried out at the Jaime Díaz Quintero water treatment plant.
As reported by the National Aqueducts and Sewers Institute (Idaan), the works will be carried out from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The areas affected by the suspension of the water supply are: La Chorrera, the Juan Demosthenes Arosemena district, Ciudad Futuro, Cerro Tigre, Chapala, and the Vista Alegre district.
During the works, which consist of cleaning sedimentation tanks and taking raw water, the hospitals of Arraiján and La Chorrera will be supplied with drinking water through cisterns.
According to the Idaan, once the works are completed, the Jaime Díaz Quintero water treatment plant will maintain its production at 100% and the system will be gradually recovering in the affected areas.
The authorities indicate that the objective of these tasks is to optimize the production process of the water treatment plant.
After the announcement, users of social networks expressed their dissatisfaction with the constant lack of supply in these areas of the country.
