Sabonge: We have rebuilt 907 streets, let's focus on what we have already done and not only on what we lack
Hundreds of users every day walk through streets full of holes nationwide that generate traffic and sometimes accidents.
The Minister of Public Works of Panama (MOP), Rafael Sabonge, asked the population to focus on the rehabilitation and reconstruction of streets that have already been done at the national level, and not only on damaged streets that have not yet been repaired.
"In two years we have intervened, rehabilitated, and rebuilt 907 streets in 4 districts of Panama, and there are still people who say that we have nothing. At the national level there are 20 thousand km of street, and we have 1,400 km repaired," he said.
As indicated, the entity prioritizes the main road arteries through which 80% of drivers travel.
"There are always going to be things to do and I would be very irresponsible to say that we are going to solve everything. Let us focus on what we have already done and not only on what we still have to do, because the needs are greater than the resources we have. they have to attend to them," added Minister Sabonge.
He added that there are 10 tenders for works in Panama Compra, and it is expected that on September 10, 5 more projects will be uploaded. 26 projects are expected to have been put out to tender by year-end.
