Dr. Lourdes Moreno, head of epidemiology at the Ministry of Health (Minsa) of Panama, reported this Tuesday, November 10, that the Rt or reproductive index of covid-19 in Panama rose to 1.07.
Moreno recalled that last week, the Rt was at 1.04.
By health region, Los Santos, North Panama, Colón, West Panama, Herrera, Bocas del Toro, East Panama, and Darien mark a Rt below 1.
While the Guna Yala Region, the Metropolitan Region, Coclé, San Miguelito, Veraguas and Chiriquí have an Rt above 1.
Despite community transmission, explained Dr. Moreno, Panama remains in the 18th position in the region, with a fatality of 2.0%.
Panama is also among the countries in the region with the most tests per inhabitant to detect
COVID-19 , along with Canada, the United States and Chile.
