President Cortizo appoints Juan Melillo as the new manager of the Savings Bank
The President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo , appointed Juan Melillo on Monday as the new General Manager of the Savings Bank (Caja de Ahorros).
The appointment of the economist Juan E. Melillo comes after Andrés Farrugia made his position available on April 22, a resignation that was accepted by the president.
Juan Melillo has 20 years of experience in local and international banking, capital markets development and wealth management, in managing roles in team leadership in both the professional environment and in non-profit organizations in volunteering with a proven social sensitivity.
He has degrees in economics and business with a specialty in International Business from the University of South Florida.
He is also certified by Wealth Management Planner (Switzerland), Investment Analyst License (Panama), Stock Broker License (Panama), United States Investment License: Series 6, Series 63, and Life, Health and Variable Annuity.
He has also served as Deputy General Manager - Capital Markets Division of the National Bank of Panama; Executive Director of Andbank and Financial Specialist at Wachovia Bank / Wachovia Securities (former First Union), among other positions.
