Resuming face-to-face classes is being evaluated by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) together with all sectors involved and interested in education, Minister Luis Francisco Sucre announced this morning, Monday 15 March.
He explained that as part of this evaluation, on Sunday he held a face-to-face meeting with the Minister of Education, Maruja Gorday de Villalobos, in which Meduca and Unicef advisers, representatives of private schools and Dr. Eduardo Ortega, member of the
COVID-19
Vaccine Research Consortium.
He explained that the face-to-face return process to schools cannot be accelerated and caution must be exercised; detailing that the issue has been discussed and the Ministry of Education ( Meduca ) has several established options.
"We do not want to make mistakes, since in other countries they have opened the schools and have become a source of contagion,"
Sucre said, justifying the authorities' caution.
He added that all the measures for face-to-face classes will be agreed with all the sectors involved, while mentioning that there are already schools that have been gradually opening with all the biosafety protocols.
