Casco Antiguo de Panamá

Partial closures in two streets in Casco Antiguo as of November 19

Starting this Thursday, November 19, partial closures will be implemented in two streets in the Old Town (Casco Antiguo) sector, which seeks to improve the tourist experience in the area.
The two streets are:

- Central Avenue between Calle 12 Este towards Calle 1era.
- Calle 11 Este, between Avenida Eloy Alfaro and Avenida B.

The Land Transit and Transportation Authority (ATTT) details that after hours from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm the roads must be clear; while the schedule from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm will be enabled for loading and unloading operations.

ATTT adds that it is forbidden to park in places cordoned off with yellow tape 24 hours a day, and drivers who park in areas assigned for people with disabilities will be penalized and removed with a tow truck.

The entity calls on drivers and the general public to pay attention to the signs and instructions of the security forces.

It is worth mentioning that these closures are carried out in coordination with the Traffic Operations Authority of the National Police and the security entities that belong to the coordination committee of the activation plan of the Old Town, based on Executive Decree No. 572 of 10 September 2020, which creates the Inter-institutional Commission for the improvement of the tourist experience of the Old Town and the Historic Center of Panama City.
