La aviación internacional será reactivada a partir del 12 de octubre

Panama will reactivate international aviation as of October 12

Starting next October 12, the Republic of Panama will proceed to reactivate international aviation, as established in the Updated National-Provincial Reopening Plan approved this Tuesday by the Cabinet Council.

International commercial aviation and passenger transport flights have been suspended since March 22, by order of the National Government, after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in Panama.

In addition, for October 12, the following is scheduled: the lifting of the curfew, including Sunday, as well as the opening of hotels, motels, rural hostels, lodging places, complementary services, tourist activities, non-essential transportation (recreational and tourism), creative and cultural industries, music and art academies, libraries, swimming pools and the National Charity Lottery.

Likewise, the Updated National-Provincial Reopening Plan establishes new dates for the reactivation of economic activities, which must be governed in accordance with the protocols established by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and will be conditioned according to the evolution of COVID-19 in the country:

September 7:

- Construction industry and related activities (engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, moving and hauling services)
- Panama Pacific Special Economic Area
- Colon Free Zone and free zones
- Private marinas and sport fishing
- Tailors, dressmakers and shoe stores
- Car wash

September 14:

- Mobility restriction by gender is lifted
- Curfew will be from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am from Monday to Saturday, total quarantine on Sunday
- Safe conduct are without effect, except for companies that due to their economic activity require the mobility of their employees during curfew hours.

September 21:

- Federation sports activities (without public)

September 28:

- Retail trade (face-to-face)
- Restaurants and inns (face-to-face)
- Professional services pending to open
- Administrative and general services
- National aviation
- Family activities at the beach, rivers and natural parks (by province)
- Racetracks (no public)

October 12:

- Curfew is lifted, including Sunday
- International aviation
- Hotels, motels, rural hostels, lodging sites and complementary services
- Tourist activities, non-essential transportation
- Creative and cultural industries, music and art academies
- Libraries
- Swimming pools
- National Charity Lottery

Date pending:

- Schools, colleges, universities and third level institutions (face-to-face)
- Maternity, kindergarten and CAIPI
- Enclosed cinemas, theaters, galleries and tourist sites
- Gyms
- Children's amusement rooms
- Casinos
- Bars, canteens, gardens, discos and the like
- Congresses, concerts, fairs, patrons, carnivals, parades, processions and other activities
