The health protocol for the entry of travelers to Panama will be modified, announced the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, who explained that anyone who has been immunized against the coronavirus should not undergo a COVID-19 detection test, as long as they present their vaccination card.
People with full
COVID vaccination should not have to get swabbed now, "because those people who have their doses set, even if they come from other countries, do not need swabs or traceability, because these people must already have immunity in an adequate state"
Sucre explained on Wednesday 17 March, adding that this will apply to airports, ports and borders.
Sucre also said that epidemiological surveillance will be strengthened for the entry of travelers from the United Kingdom, South Africa, the United States and Brazil, due to the presence of new strains in those regions.
Panama currently requires people who enter the country to test negative for
COVID-19.
"A person who has already fulfilled his role of vaccination will not have to do any type of swab to enter the country and is not subject to traceability," reiterated the head of the
Minsa.
