This Wednesday, February 17, Panama resumed the vaccination against covid-19 , and began applying the second dose after the arrival of a new batch of Pfizer vaccines.
In total, Panama received 67,860 doses this morning.
According to the vaccination plan against
covid-19 prepared by the Ministry of Health, the application of these
vaccines corresponds to:
- To the 12,441 health professionals who were vaccinated.
- Stage 1A: Adults over 60 years bedridden in asylums and shelters, patients of the Comprehensive Home Care System (SADI) of the Social Security Fund (CSS).
- Stage 1B: The rest of the health and support workers who were not considered in the first stage.
Violeta Gaona de Cocherán, head nurse of the Santo Tomás Hospital Intensive Care Unit, who was the first person to be vaccinated against
covid-19 in Panama on January 20, received her second dose.
From 6:00 am this Wednesday began the transfer of
vaccines nationwide.
According to the health authorities, starting today, every week Panama will receive a new batch of
vaccines.
