In the last 24 hours, 11,724 tests were carried out to detect COVID-19; the positivity rate in Panama is 8.3% and mortality is 1.6%.
The Ministry of Health (
Minsa) reports that for Wednesday, August 11, in Panama a total of 444,695 accumulated cases of
COVID-19 are counted, of which 977 are new infections.
In addition, for today the total number of people who have died in Panama due to the
coronavirus rises to 6,924, after registering 5 new deaths and updating 1 death from previous dates.
The
Minsa adds that in the last hours 11,724 tests were carried out to detect
COVID-19; the positivity rate in the country is 8.3% and a mortality rate of 1.6% is maintained.
The epidemiological report indicates that 10,992 are active and of this number, 10,150 citizens are doing isolation in their homes and 300 are in hospital hotels.
In addition, currently in Panama there are 542 people who are hospitalized, of which 425 are in the ward and 117 in intensive care units.
On the other hand, to date, 426,779 people who have recovered from
COVID-19 are registered in Panama.
