Panamá ha bajado el índice de reproducción del virus a 0.82, pero las autoridades piden a la población mantener las medidas de bioseguridad

Panama reports 896 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths in 24 hours

Panama registered this Wednesday, February 24, some 896 new cases of coronavirus, which increased the accumulated infections in the country to 338,701.
The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) noted that in the last hours 15 new deaths were recorded, 2 deaths were updated from previous days, which raised the accumulated deaths to 5,789.

The case fatality rate of the virus is 1.7%.

On those recovered for this date, 323,283 are counted, while there are 9,629 active cases.

Regarding this last figure, it is detailed that 8,072 people are confined to their homes and another 349 are staying in hospital hotels.

There are 1,031 patients in the hospital wards and there are another 177 confined to intensive care units, patients after being infected with the virus.

In the last 24 hours, some 10,078 new tests were carried out, which yielded a positivity of 8.8%.
