Panama accumulates 383,733 cases of covid-19 and 6,408 deaths due to this disease, according to the epidemiological report of the Minsa. Rt is at 1.08.
The Ministry of Health (
Minsa) of Panama reported through its epidemiological report, 8 June, that in the last 24 hours there have been 882 new cases of
covid-19 and 4 deaths.
With these new figures, Panama accumulates 383,733 cases of
covid-19 and 6,408 deaths due to this disease. The case fatality rate is 1.7%.
11,596 new tests to detect
covid-19 were applied in the last hours. The positivity is at 7.6%.
To date, 8,052 active cases and 369,273 recovered patients have been counted, indicates the
Minsa report.
Of the total number of patients infected with
covid-19, there are 7616 in isolation, of which 7,267 are at home and 349 in hospital hotels.
While 436 patients are hospitalized, of them 373 in ward and 63 in intensive care units.
Covid-19 effective reproduction number
Dr. Leonardo Labrador, head of epidemiology at
Minsa, reported that the effective reproduction number or Rt of
covid-19 is at 1.08.
Last week the Rt was at 0.99.
Labrador said that the Rt only remains below 1 in the regions of Coclé, Panamá Este, Comarca Ngäbe Buglé and Veraguas.
All the other regions present a Rt above 1, the Guna Yala region is at 3.03 due to an outbreak, explained Labrador.
