Panama reported this Wednesday, August 25, about 864 new cases of
COVID-19 , which increased the accumulated infections to 454,330.
The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (
Minsa ) detailed that in the last hours 4 new deaths were raised and 1 death from previous days is updated; This increased
coronavirus deaths in the country to 7,023. The lethality of the virus is 1.5%.
The number of recovered is presented at 438,725 and active cases are set at 8,582.
Regarding this last statistic, the authorities specified that there are 7,955 people confined to their homes and 239 are staying in hospital hotels.
While in hospital wards there are 279 patients and 109 are confined in intensive care units victims of
COVID-19.
In the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health has applied 11,937 tests, and maintains a positivity rate of 7.2%.
