15 June 2021 – After reporting a total of 848 new cases of
COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 389,173, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, 1 new death was reported, totaling 6,452 deaths from this virus in the country. The case fatality rate remains at 1.7%.
12,168 new tests were carried out to detect
COVID-19, for a percentage of positivity of 6.9%.
There are a total of 373,070 recovered and 9,651 active cases.
Of the total active cases, there are 9,130 people are in isolation, of which 8,723 are at home and 407 in hotels; while 521 patients are hospitalized, of them 446 in ward and 75 in intensive care.
Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against
COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
