The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that in the last 24 hours in Panama a total of 523 new infections of COVID-19 have been registered, with which the number of accumulated cases in the country increased to 345,759 accumulated cases for this Tuesday, March 9.
While the number of deaths from the new
coronavirus in the country rose to 5,944 after 9 new deaths were recorded, in addition to one death from previous dates.
The case fatality rate of the virus is 1.7%.
Of those recovered, these amounted to 333,005 people who have managed to fight the battle against this virus.
In the country, there are 6,810 active cases, of which 5,731 remain in isolation at home and 213 are in hospital hotels.
The report also indicates that a total of 755 patients remain hospitalized in the ward and 111 are in intensive care units.
The report adds that in the last hours, 9,002 new tests have been carried out to detect
COVID-19 and the positivity rate is 5.8%.
