Panama reports 523 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths in 24 hours

In Panama there are currently 547 people who are hospitalized for COVID-19, of which 105 are in intensive care units and 442 in the ward.

For this Monday, August 9, a total of 523 new infections of COVID-19 are registered in Panama, with which the number of accumulated cases rises to 442,818.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reports that, for today, 5 new deaths are counted and 1 death from previous dates is updated, bringing the total number of people who have died in Panama due to the coronavirus to 6,912.

Minsa adds that the country maintains a mortality of 1.6% and the positivity rate is 9%.

The epidemiological report indicates that there are currently 11,194 cases that are active, of which 10,337 are in isolation at home and 310 are in hospital hotels.

In addition, there are 105 people who are hospitalized in intensive care units and 442 are in the ward.

The Minsa adds that in the last hours 5,805 were carried out to detect COVID-19.

On the other hand, it indicates that to date some 424,712 people who have recovered from COVID -19 are registered in Panama.
