Panama reports 462 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that for this Friday, March 5, Panama reached 343,743 accumulated cases of coronavirus, after registering a total of 462 new infections.
It details that for today there are 12 new deaths, raising to 5,907 the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19, with a case fatality rate of 1.7%.

He adds that to date 330,474 people have recovered from the disease.

Regarding hospitalizations, a total of 740 patients currently remain in the ward, while 149 are in intensive care units.

The Minsa indicates that 7,362 cases remain active, of which 6,208 are in hospital hotels and 265 remain in isolation at home.

The report adds that in the last hours 8,900 new tests have been carried out to detect COVID-19 and the positivity rate in the country is 5.1%.
