Panama reported this Friday, March 26, some 438 new cases of COVID-19, causing the accumulated infections in the country to rise to 353,017.
The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health (
Minsa ) indicates that there were 12 deaths in the last hours and 2 more deaths that were updated from previous days, which increased to 6,087 deaths from
COVID-19.
The virus maintains a case fatality rate of 1.7%.
Regarding the numbers of those recovered, this increased to 341,900 and it was added that active cases are set at 5,030.
From this statistic it is revealed that 4,194 people are confined to their homes and another 202 are housed in hotels.
So far, there are 535 patients in hospital wards and another 99 are in intensive care units after being infected with
coronavirus.
In the last 24 hours in the country, some 9,140 new tests have been carried out, which yielded a positivity of 4.7%.
