Panama reports 426 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths in 24 hours

To date, there are a total of 447,466 recovered patients and 460,499 accumulated cases of COVID-19 in Panama.
After reporting a total of 426 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 460,499, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health, 7 September 2021.

Meanwhile, 4 new deaths were reported, totaling 7,099 deaths from this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.5%.

8,531 new tests were carried out to detect COVID-19, for a percentage of positivity of 4.9%. The RT or reproduction index of the virus remains at 0.86.

There are a total of 447,466 recovered and 5,934 active cases.

Of the total active cases, there are 5,587 people are in isolation, of which 5,363 are at home and 347 in hotels; while 0000 patients are hospitalized, of them 262 in ward and 85 in intensive care.

Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%, said Minsa statement.
