Panama reports 415 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths in 24 hours

Panama reports for March 24 that 415 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, which increased accumulated infections to 352,082.
The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health ( Minsa), indicates that there were 5 new deaths, which raised to 6,065 deaths from coronavirus.

The virus maintains a case fatality rate of 1.7%.

Regarding the numbers of those recovered, this increased to 340,974 and it was added that active cases are set at 5,043.

Of the active cases, 4,153 people are confined to their homes and another 202 are housed in hotels.

So far, there are 581 patients in hospital wards and another 107 are in intensive care units after being infected with coronavirus.

In the last 24 hours in the country, some 9,599 new tests have been carried out, which yielded a positivity of 4.3%.
