Panama reports 398 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths in 24 hours

The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) announced that this Friday, February 26, about 10 new deaths from COVID-19 were registered, which raised the number of total deaths to 5,820.
The report announced that in the last hours some 398 new cases were detected, bringing the accumulated number of infections to 339,781.

The case fatality of the virus remains at 1.7%.

The number of recovered in the country increased to 324,836, while active cases were set at 9,125.

Regarding this last figure, it was detailed that some 7,620 people are confined to their homes and another 352 are staying in hospital hotels.

The statistics also report that some 986 patients are in hospital wards and 167 have been confined in intensive care units after becoming infected with this virus.

The authorities applied in the last 24 hours some 5,942 new tests which yielded a positivity of 6.6%.
