After reporting a total of 268 new cases of
COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 364,844, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health, 1 May 2021.
Meanwhile, 3 new deaths were reported, totaling 6,235 deaths from this virus in the country. The case fatality rate remains at 1.7%.
7,979 new tests were carried out to detect
coronavirus, for a percentage of positivity of 3.3%.

Of the total active cases, 3,526 people are in isolation, of which 3,349 are at home and 177 in hotels; while 370 patients are hospitalized, of them 302 in ward and 68 in intensive care.
To date, Panama has applied more than 633 thousand doses of
vaccine against
COVID-19, of which 623,941 have been from the pharmaceutical company
Pfizer, and 9,287 from
AstraZeneca.
