Panama reports 260 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry also details that in the last 24 hours there have been about 3 new deaths, increasing to 6,238 the deaths accumulated by COVID-19.
The epidemiological report for this Sunday, May 2, highlights that some 260 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Panama, bringing the accumulated infections to 365,104.

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) also details that in the last 24 hours there have been about 3 new deaths, increasing to 6,238 deaths from this new coronavirus in the country. The case fatality of the virus is 1.7%.

So far some 365,104 people have recovered from this virus and active cases are set at 3,892.

From this last figure it stands out that there are 3,354 people confined to their homes, while another 178 are staying in hospital hotels.

While in hospital wards there are 292 confined patients and 68 remain in intensive care units.

In the last hours in the country, some 5,698 new tests have been carried out to detect COVID-19, which have yielded a positivity of 4.5%.
