Panama reports 250 new COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths in 24 hours

There are a total of 459,657 recovered patients and 2,508 active COVID-19 cases, of which 2,296 are in home isolation.
After reporting a total of 250 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 469,440, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, 3 new deaths were reported, and 1 death from a previous date is updated, totaling 7,275 deaths due to this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.5%.

7,186 new tests were carried out to detect COVID-19, for a percentage of positivity of 3.4%.

There are a total of 459,657 recovered and 2,508 active cases.

Of the total active cases, 2,296 people are in isolation, of which 2,194 are at home and 102 in hotels; while 212 patients are hospitalized, of them 166 in ward and 46 in intensive care.

The RT or reproduction index of the virus is 0.89.

According to the Minsa, currently the provinces of Veraguas, Herrera Los Santos, Bocas del Toro, Coclé, Darién, Panama Oeste, and the Ngabe Buglé and Guna Yala regions, have not reported patients reported in the ward or in intensive care.

Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
