The epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health of Panama (Minsa) reported this Monday, April 19, that some 203 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in the country, raising the accumulated infections to 361,044.
In addition, the
Minsa indicates that in the last 24 hours 1 new death was reported, which increased deaths from
coronavirus to 6,189.
The virus maintains a case fatality rate of 1.7% in the country.
So far, 350,835 recovered cases have been reported and there are 4,020 active cases in the country.
From this last figure, 3,449 people are confined to their homes and 204 have been accommodated in hospital hotels.
Regarding patients hospitalized in wards, it was detailed that there are 311 and another 56 are confined in intensive care units, after having contracted the virus.
The authorities applied some 4,554 new tests in the last hours, which yielded a positivity of 4.4%.
