Panama registered 2,422 new cases of COVID-19, which brings the accumulated number of infections to 193,007 in the country, as reported this Sunday, December 13 by the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
The epidemiological report also detailed that in the last 24 hours about 25 new deaths have been registered, raising the deaths from
coronavirus to 3,356. The case fatality of the virus is 1.7%.
So far some 162,105 people have recovered from
COVID-19 in the country and active cases are reported in 27,546.
Of this figure, it is specified that 25,392 are isolated at home and 722 are housed in hospital hotels.
In addition there are 1,244 patients confined to hospital wards and 188 remain in intensive care units.
In the last 24 hours, some 12,032 new tests have been carried out to detect the
coronavirus, which have yielded 20.1% positivity.
