After reporting a total of 134 new cases of
COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 471,537, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.
In the last hours, no deaths from
coronavirus were reported. There is a total of 7,307 deaths due to this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.5%.
4,492 new tests were carried out to detect
COVID-19, for a positivity of 2.9%.
There are a total 461,954 recovered and 2,276 active cases.
Of the total active cases, 2,078 people are in isolation, of which 1,991 are at home and 87 in hotels; while 198 patients are hospitalized, of them 166 in ward and 32 in intensive care.
Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against
COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
