After reporting a total of 132 new cases of
COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 471,669, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.
In the last hours, 3 deaths from
coronavirus were reported, leaving a total of 7,310 deaths from this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.5%.
3,326 new tests were carried out to detect
COVID-19, for a positivity of 2.9%.
There are a total 462,060 recovered and 2,299 active cases.
Of the total active cases, 2,098 people are in isolation, of which 2,021 are at home and 77 in hotels; while 201 patients are hospitalized, of them 172 in the ward and 29 in intensive care.
Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against
COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
