Panama reports 1,110 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 deaths in the last 24 hours
There are a total of 411,945 recovered patients and 12,828 active COVID-19 cases, of which 12,205 are in home isolation.
After reporting a total of 1,110 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, Panama raised its number of infections to 431,554, according to the epidemiological report of the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile, 13 new deaths were reported, of which 54% correspond to children under 59 years of age, totaling 6,781 deaths due to this virus in the country. The fatality rate remains at 1.6%.
12,524 new tests were carried out to detect COVID-19, for a percentage of positivity of 8.8%.
There are a total of 411,945 recovered and 12,828 active cases. The virus reproduction rate or RT in Panama remains at 0.96.
Of the total active cases, there are 12,205 people are in isolation, of which 11,879 are at home and 326 in hotels; while 623 patients are hospitalized, of them 502 in ward and 121 in intensive care.
Despite the fact that Panama is in the process of vaccination against COVID-19, the use of masks continues to be essential as they represent protection above 80%.
